Food and romance go hand in hand (“Wine and dine” anyone?). So, for this Valentine’s Day, you might want to consider a tip from Balducci’s Contributing Chef Steven: Try his Fresh Burrata with Figs and Basil recipe. It’s easy, tasty, and we’re told very romantic. Figs, we hear, were Cleopatra’s favorite fruit, and the ancient Greeks held them as sacred and associated them with love and fertility.

Fresh Burrata with Figs & Basil

Serves 4 (but we prefer to think of it as two servings for both of you)
8 fresh figs
12 oz. fresh burrata
3 Tbs. chopped fresh Italian parsley
Sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 to 3 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil
1 Tbs. good quality Balsamic vinegar
4 to 6 leaves fresh basil

1. Cut figs into quarters and place on plates.
2. Cut burrata cheese into quarters and place a portion on each plate.
3. Sprinkle chopped parsley on top of the burrata cheese and figs.
4. Season with salt and pepper and drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar; garnish with fresh basil.
