The annual Horizons at Greens Farms Academy fall event, held at the Patterson Club, united the community in support of educational opportunities. The evening raised funds for the Horizons program, which helps underserved Bridgeport students by providing them with academic instruction, mentoring and nurturing guidance. ESPN host Mike Greenberg served as the master of ceremonies and entertained the crowd during the spirited live auction. Among the must-see auction items was a special in-home celebrity-chef dinner party cooked by Chef Jamie Cooper of Bonda restaurant. Greg French of Henry C. Reid & Son donated a moonstone and diamond necklace for the champagne raffle. Attendees also viewed a special screening of a Horizons video produced by Sam Hodge, GFA class of 2014, and narrated by Josh Dumas, Horizons class of 2014. Thanks to the generosity of attendees, local businesses, teachers, students and volunteers, the Horizons program will continue to close the achievement gap for years to come.
