Westport Library’s BOOKED for the Evening was a prize-worthy party in honor of Pulitzer Prize-winning author and editor Jon Meacham. Normally a quiet place of reflection and study, the library buzzed with life as more than 400 guests filled the space. Attendees enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before the program, which celebrated Meacham’s work as one of the country’s foremost writers and historians. The program, which was directed by Carol Schweid, featured actors Scott Bryce, Daniel Gerroll and Miles Marek, as well as saxophonist Jim Clark and singer Susan Terry. Meacham accepted the Westport Library Award, which is presented to those who nurture a love of learning and understanding of the world. The funds raised that evening will support the library, which will in turn benefit the 1,600 people that walk through its doors daily.
