The Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan was once again home to the Art of the Northeast, a juried art show featuring some of the most gifted artists in the region. The sixty-third-annual event featured twenty-six artists hailing from New England, New York, and Pennsylvania, who showcased fifty-five works of art. More than 200 art lovers joined the artists for the opening reception, where their eyes feasted on artwork in a variety of diverse mediums. The show was curated by David A. Ross, the chair of the School of Visual Arts’ MFA Program in New York. Mary Jo McGonagle of Southport took home the prized Best in Show award, which includes a solo exhibition at the Silvermine Arts Center and a stipend.
