The tenth annual Galaxy of STARs Gala Dinner Dance and Auction was held at Woodway Country Club in Darien. More than 200 guests attended the event, helping to raise nearly $270,000 for STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. STAR President Ken Harrington-Howes served as host for the evening, along with Executive Director Katie Banzhaf and auctioneer Kathy Kingston. Jim Wall of Deloitte was honored for his support. Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, dancing and auctions, which included original, hand-painted porcelain plates by Westport artists Nina Bentley, Elise Black, Miggs Burroughs and Weston artists Eileen Grace, Leslie Giuliani, Nash Hyon and Roger Mudre; the live auction included a private VIP box and tickets for twenty to Cirque du Soleil’s Immortal. Committee members included Richard Batten and Mary McGee and Joseph and Cathleen Crowley-Piscitell of Weston; Barry and Judy Bosworth, John and Mary Lee Danaher, and Jack and Deborah McFadden of Wilton; Miggs Burroughs, Michey and Candace Herbst and Robert and Doree Levy
of Westport.
