It’s enough to make your head spin: JoyRide Cycling Studio raised more than $53,000 for SpinOdyssey, a benefit to support breast cancer research. Team JoyRide, thirty-eight members strong, was recognized as the top fundraising team, and team member Andrew Beal was the  top individual fundraiser, hauling in $19,225.

The largest indoor cycling charity event in the United States, SpinOdyssey has raised more than $3 million since its inception in 2000. This year’s event was held at Intensity Fitness and Tennis Club in Norwalk and Team JoyRide was one of approximately forty teams. More than 500 riders helped raise $311,334. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society breast cancer research and Norwalk Hospital’s Whittingham Cancer Center. JoyRide, the only fitness boutique in Fairfield County dedicated to indoor cycling, or Spinning®, also hosted free endurance training rides for participants to prepare for the fundraising event
