Near & Fair Aid Spring Gala

photographs by Mark Smith

An evening of mingling, dancing, glamour, and an abundance of good will, the Near and Far Aid Spring Gala at Mitchells was a stunning success. Picking up on the optimism of the Year of the Dragon, the major philanthropic and social event kicked off with cocktails and dim sum and a rare wine auction before moving on to dinner and a dramatic dragon performance. Guests were greeted by NFA President Jeanne Burris and Bob Mitchell of Mitchells, while Al Roker of NBC’s Today Show and Deborah Roberts of ABC News oversaw the festivities. The evening benefits NFA’s more than 100 grants to social-service agencies and programs. Since 2000, NFA has granted more than $11 million to philanthropic causes, an achievement worth celebrating. – D.T.S.
